The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE) announced the launch of ‘Biblio-R.A.F.T. electoral’ Contest for libraries, which took place as part of ‘Enhancing democracy in Moldova through inclusive and transparent elections’ (EDMITE) Project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
The contest is organised to support, stimulate and promote creative and original ideas in the field of civic and electoral education.
The information session for potential participants in the ‘Biblio-R.A.F.T. electoral’ contest was held today, 2 August.
At the beginning of the information session, the CICDE Director Dr. Doina Bordeianu, took a step back in time and said that: ‘During 2018-2021, 385 librarians became promoters of electoral education and made sure that all library visitors were informed correctly and objectively about the electoral process in the Republic of Moldova. Libraries became information and education points for voters, which can be confirmed by the twelve thousands people trained in the specifics of local parliamentary and presidential elections, who also learned about the importance of voting and civic responsibility for each citizen’.
Marcela Roșca, a CICDE trainer, presented to participants the Contest Regulation, which can be accessed here. She also mentioned that all the libraries from the Republic of Moldova, from all villages, districts or municipalities, may participate in this edition of the contest. Libraries can participate via librarians.
To meet the eligibility requirements, the files must contain a brief information about the library and librarian, and the portfolio of civic and electoral education activities.
We remind that CICDE has launched a contest for all libraries in the country with the purpose to support, stimulate and promote creative and original ideas in the field of civic and electoral education.
