The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training, supported by USAID Moldova and UNDP Moldova, is launching an essay contest for children and young people on the theme: ‘Why would I apply for an MP position?’

Who are the future MPs of the Republic of Moldova? Why would they be interested in becoming elected representatives of the people? What problems would they intend to solve? The answers to all these questions shall be provided in the essays that the applicants will write. Children and young people from two age groups can enter the competition: 12-15 and 16-19 years old.

The winners of the contest will be offered an e-book reader and parlour games, portable speakers, wireless headphones and external batteries (Power Bank).

Therefore, if you want to win one of those prizes, write an essay and tell us why you would like to apply for a mandate of an MP, what electoral platform you would choose, what you would change in politics or in the way of electing MPs, and the most important, what would inspire you to become an MP.

The essay shall not exceed two A4 pages (regardless if it is typed on computer or handwritten). The deadline for submitting your essay is on 20 June. You shall sign as follows:

  • name, surname
  • your locality
  • age
  • telephone number

Send the essay by e-mail to info@cicde.md or by post to Centre for Continuous Electoral Training, 119, Vasile Alecsandri St., Chisinau municipality with the note: Essay contest ‘Why would I apply for a MP position?’
