CICDE chose the winners of the third edition of the scholarship program for electoral researches.
Date: 04.03.2021

The young researchers, beneficiaries of the Scholarship Program for the development of individual electoral research projects, launched by the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE) under the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), have defined their research topics and the key aspects they want to explore.

The research projects address different election-related topics, such as hate speech during electoral campaigns, impact of schools on developing the civic spirit of future voters, media coverage of elections, ethics and accountability of public authorities in the electoral process.

The research project program aims to support young researchers in achieving remarkable results in the realm of electoral research. These projects will be developed in the coming months and will both increase the quality of electoral research, and stimulate the development of research skills of the young grant beneficiaries.

Ghenadie Prețivatii applied for this scholarship in order to improve his professional skills and competences, to learn and subsequently apply the electoral principles and regulatory norms.

And Cristina Savca, also a scholarship holder under the program, says that ‘changes come from young people and the society will be much stronger only when the young generation becomes aware of their belonging to the community and their importance for the well-being of the country. That is why, developing the civic spirit of future voters should be a priority for the education sector’.

‘I have decided to apply for CICDE Scholarship Program, because I think there is no political ethics in the Republic of Moldova, and the information is misinformed in this regard. Hate speeches need to be identified and eliminated from the political game, and genuine values need to be promoted instead’, concluded Catalina Polinschi.

We remind that in January, this year, CICDE launched the third edition of the scholarship contest for the development of individual electoral research projects. The Program is intended for young researchers interested in such topics as democracy, election and electoral campaign, hate speech, etc.

The initiative aims to motivate young talents to explore the world of elections, increase the expert review skills of master’s and PhD degree students and strengthen the community of young researchers interested in the electoral field.
