The Project ‘Education of Electoral Stakeholders for the Presidential Election’, implemented by CICDE with the support of the U.S. Department of State between 1 August – 31 December 2020, was successfully completed.

The project aimed to change the attitude of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova living in the country and abroad towards the elections, to contribute to increasing their knowledge about the electoral process, to promote a greater voter turnout among young people, as well as ethnic minorities, to strengthen the professionalism of electoral officials and to assess the impact of CICDE trainings for the 2020 presidential election. The project included two components: the first one targeted the voters, the second one – the electoral officials.

Finally, around 150 thousand people were directly or indirectly targeted during the information campaign, and around 9,000 electoral officials were trained on how to use the project outputs. The project’s information banners were displayed more than 2 million times via Google Ads platform, while on Facebook the interaction and impact of the posts related to project activities exceeded 100 thousand.

Materials and activities performed during the project and disseminated online:

#5 short videos on the topic ‘The Expert answers’ that you can watch here;

#4 videographics created for training electoral officials;

#The booklet ‘Electoral cycle for everybody’ – explains in a user-friendly format the stages of the electoral cycle and describes the activities that are implemented throughout it;

#Sociological research (quantitative and qualitative analysis) regarding the impact of the trainings carried out by CICDE in relation to the presidential election.

Materials were developed in a manner that is inclusive and responsive to gender, ethnic diversity and voters’ special needs. Created materials are available for Russian, Gagauz and Ukrainian speakers, some of them being also provided with by sign language translation.  You can find them at www.cicde.md under the heading Agreements and Projects.

CICDE relaunched the E-hub 2.0 electoral discussion platform with a discussion about the experience of Romania and other European states in the field of civic and electoral education. The second mobile campaign "Arci's Road to Elections" reached over 15,800 children More than 15,800 primary school children received a copy of the fourth edition of election strips, entitled "Bows for Barrier-Free Elections." The civic education materials were distributed within the mobile campaign "Arci's Road to Elections". This time, between February and March 2021, the Arci hedgehog bus and CICDE volunteers reached 130 schools in 11 districts of the country. Read more...

On Global Elections Day, CICDE announces the launching of the mobile campaign ‘Arci’s Journey to Elections’, which aims at informing and civic education of primary school children. The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training under the Central Electoral Commission, represented by the Dr. Doina Bordeianu and the ‘Stefan cel Mare’ Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, represented by Dr. Dinu Ostavciuc, agreed to sign a Cooperation Agreement on the development and implementation of study programmes, specialised trainings and joint activities in the electoral field, security and integrity of the electoral process, and development of electoral culture.
