CICDE Announces That the Intellectual Games ‘What? Where? When?’ on Electoral Topics Are Temporarily Transferred to the Online Environment
Date: 15.05.2020

The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE) announces the resumption of the spring-summer season of the Intellectual Games ‘What? Where? When?’ on electoral topics, which was interrupted because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and announces that the registration for the next games is now open.

Three more games will be held this season – one for each region. North, Centre, South. Teams consisting of up to 6 students from all pre-university educational institutions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova can register until 24 May 2020, by filling in the following form: https://forms.gle/hWetTq3J5buioaM18.  The way the game will be played and the platform where it will take place will be communicated to the registered teams. The winning teams will qualify for the final stage, which will be held in autumn.

The first intellectual game ‘What? Where? When?’ on electoral topics took place in September 2017. The concept of the game is about asking questions on electoral topics to test the participants’ intelligence, erudition and acumen. During the three editions that took place so far, the games involved over 700 students from around 80 schools. The first game of this year's edition took place on 7 February 2020 in Chisinau municipality, while the others were suspended during the declared state of emergency.

The games take place under the ‘Enhancing Democracy in Moldova Through Inclusive and Transparent Elections’ Project, implemented by United Nations Development Programme in Moldova with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development, of the British Embassy in Chisinau through the Good Governance Fund and of the Embassy of the Netherlands through the Matra Programme.
