CICDE Invests in the Development of Digital Teaching Skills of Its Trainers
Date: 01.05.2020

During 28-30 April 2020, CICDE launched the ‘Digitalising the Electoral Training’ Program for Trainers’ Professional Development and conducted the first three webinars thereunder.

The Program aims to create or expand, where appropriate, the skills of CICDE trainers to conduct electoral trainings using online platforms and tools, such as zoom.us, learningaps.com, quizizz.com, padlet.com, etc.

‘The biggest challenge in digitising the electoral training is to keep it interactive and practical – a feature specific to CICDE trainings. The launched Program for Trainers’ Professional Development aims at offering solutions which integrate into online training certain tools that allow us to run a brainstorming session, to work in small groups, to arrange virtual files or test the participants’ knowledge’, says Dr. Doina Bordeianu, CICDE Head.

The 15 trainers who participated in the webinars highlighted their usefulness and the need to continue. Therefore another three webinars of this kind will take place during 4-8 May.

Digitalising training and civic education activities is one of CICDE’s strategic objectives for 2020-2023. The state of emergency declared as a response to the coronavirus pandemic led to the postponement or cancellation of some activities that CICDE planned for this spring. In such circumstances, CICDE relies on its e-learning platform (e-learning.cicde.md), while exploring other solutions in terms of remote learning and preparing the trainers to conduct trainings, including online ones.

The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training under the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova is a public institution subordinated to CEC, established in line with Article 27 of the Electoral Code for the purpose of training and qualifying the electoral officials, as well as other subjects involved in the election process in the Republic of Moldova.
