During 21-24 April 2020, the Head of the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training, Dr. Doina Bordeianu, participates in a specialised webinar on e-Education.
‘We are looking for solutions that would meet adults’ needs of training and civic education in the electoral field. This webinar is an opportunity for us to learn first-hand information about the online educational platforms available in the Republic of Moldova, and about the best practices from Estonia’, says CICDE Head.
The webinar, divided into three modules, is a discussion platform for professionals interested in e-Education topics and takes place under ‘5e-Gov Webinars for Moldova’ Project, implemented by the Laboratory of Initiatives for Development (LID Moldova) with the support of Friedrich Naumann Foundation Southeast Europe.
Digitalising training and civic education activities is one of CICDE strategic objectives for 2020-2023. The state of emergency declared as a response to the coronavirus pandemic lead to the fact that some CICDE activities, planned initially for this spring, have been postponed (training of civic education teachers, informing the voters through libraries, new rounds of the intellectual game ‘What? Where? When?’) or even cancelled (weekend camp for children from schools teaching in Latin script on the left bank of Nistru River). Under such circumstances, CICDE relies on its e-learning platform (e-learning.cicde.md), while exploring other solutions in terms of online education.
The Centre for Continuous Electoral Training under the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova is a public institution subordinated to CEC, established in line with Article 27 of the Electoral Code for the purpose of training and qualifying electoral officials, as well as other subjects involved in the election process in the Republic of Moldova.
