The 2019 Edition of ‘Electoral Digest’ Electoral Analysis, Theory and Research Magazine was launched on E-Hub electoral discussion platform
Date: 13.12.2019

On 13 December 2019, the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE) organised the last meeting of the Electoral Hub (E-Hub) this year. The event was attended by students of the International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences Department (FRISPA) of the State University of Moldova, but also by the trainers, authoring this edition.

The discussion moderator, Cristina Berlinschii, senior specialist at CICDE, opened the discussion platform with a presentation of the institution and an introduction into the topics analyzed in the magazine.  They discussed the importance of civic education in electoral field and the participants’ desire to know more about the electoral process, voting procedures and active citizenship.

On this discussion platform, the CICDE trainers, who are also the authors of this issue of the magazine of electoral analysis, theory and research, presented and summarized the researched topics, including the main recommendations on them. The addressed topics included: difficulties of organising elections abroad, involvement of women and young people in the last election, some particularities regarding voting at the place of stay, a little bit about the electoral lists. At the same time, the participants enjoyed a walk through history, when a single vote decided the fate of the world, but also some electoral curiosities such as – electoral hacking or corruption of voters.

Valeria, a student of FRISPA in the second year, specified the following: ‘I really liked this kind of E-Hub, it was conversational and thorough. In addition, it came with statistical data, some difficult to access or find online information; the information presented was to everyone's understanding and even, somehow, those who presented the research answered some questions to which I could not find trustworthy answers so far. The working atmosphere was warm and very productive’. Another participant, Petru, also a student of FRISPA, mentioned that he was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the organisation, and the interactivity was above expectations.

The electoral analysis, theory and research magazine ‘Electoral Digest’ is in its second edition and is being published with the purpose of developing one of the four strategic pillars of CICDE, the research, consultancy and consolidation services of the analysis activity.
